This is The Little List

The Little List so far

• Use leaf tea rather than bags in rehearsal room, office etc
• Re-use cups or use mugs: don't throw out plastic cups
• Repair rather than replace it
• Ask 'why?' of each item you throw away
• Reuse leftovers (edible, material, conceptual!)
• Switch off equipment, computers etc. overnight
• Use the manual rather than automatic door
• Use elbow grease rather than electricity
• Buy it secondhand
• Use human energy where possible
• Use both sides of paper (more if possible)
• Manage your banking and bills on-line not on-paper
• Plan what you're going to eat at the start of the week and shop accordingly
• Darn it! Mend stuff
• Re-use paper cups
(note: today I used a vending machine that detects a cup placed in the vending area and doesn't dispense a new one. Clever)
• Get/save old buttons to replace old ones: renew or re-style according to taste
• Get a smaller bin

Rationale

Little things that we could do to help reduce waste and preserve the earth's resources. Your contributions can help the list grow and flourish.

AND - by an odd coincidence,
many things that use up fewer of the earth's resources
also use up less of your money.
Which is nice.

Principle

• Simple, specific actions, in a single sentence

Tips

• Think reduction and re-use before recycling
• Consider things your grandparents did during the war - ok, not necessarily all of them ;)
